I am wondering if there are ANY job opportunities in Ireland for hard working young professionals ?
-
Im an Aussie girl and I just returned to Australia from London as my working holidaymaker visa expired. Im extremely keen to work in London again (as my boyfriend and all my friends are there!) and the easiest way for me to do this is to get an Irish working holiday visa and then transfer to London with an international company. I don't know how hard it will be at the moment to find any kind of job in an international company in Ireland. I have a marketing background and a business/law degree and I cannot find jobs in Australia now anyway, so I figure I may as well bit the bullet. Please I would greatly appreciate any suggestions about whether its worth going to Ireland to look for any kind of work at the moment... thank you :D

Answer:
In a word no, its probably not worth you coming here right now I'm afraid. The dole queue is growing longer every day, companies are going bust left right adn centre. There are 400,000+ adults seeking employment and most employers will choose an Irish candidate over a similarly qualified non-Irish candidate I'm afraid.

If there was, Irish men & women wouldn't be heading to Australia

Honestly, love, it's not worth it at the moment. A friend of mine has similar qualifications to yours, and she's finding it tough going in Ireland at the moment, plus she has the added bonus of being an Irish national. As a non-EU national, you wouldn't stand a snowball's chance in hell of getting a decent job in Ireland right now.

there are jobs, but they're few and far between. A lot of people here have similar qualifications and they're struggling to find work. Any jobs available will go to an Irish, or EU national before an Australian. Also, I wouldn't expect too many jobs with the option to transfer to London either. Honestly, I'd say its really not worth your while coming here, it would be extremely difficult for you to find work and if you do, it probably won't allow you to transfer to London.

Yes. McDonalds.

Things are very bad here at the moment and not lightly to pick up for some time yet so no it would not be a good move at all to come here

Truth is that it's not gonna be easy, but with luck, it can be done, especially if you have an extra language (french, german, ...) For being transferred to London though, I heard nothing about that here. People are offered job for the business in Ireland. Good luck

Try Northern Ireland, as that is part of the UK. Might be easier since you have already worked in London.
