I presume you mean "cheaper"? Try Ebay or Amazon. If I want to buy a book I always check Ebay first. Many independant book shops (as opposed to Easons etc) would have a 2nd hand book section.

Buy secondhand from Amazon, or google secondhand bookshops in your county. There's one called Kahn's in Kilkenny, and College Street books in Carlow, but apart from that i don't know of any specific shops.

Go into any of the charity shops, you can get books very cheaply in many of those. If it's academic books you're after, for college or whatever, I suggest trying Amazon.co.uk for secondhand copies, as in many cases these are as new and never opened.
