How to convert Leaving cert results to GCSE's equivalent?
-
How can I convert this to leaving cert results equivalent? 35 ALIS points (34 for Scottish Standards) gained from the best seven subjects at GCSE, or equivalent, which must include English language, mathematics and either a science subject or a foreign language. In addition a score of 180 UCAS Tariff points acquired in separate subjects at AS and A level, or equivalent. These must include a minimum of two passes at A level, or equivalent, at grades A-E. Note that the General Studies paper does not qualify for UCAS Tariff points.

The Leaving Cert equates to A Levels, not GCSEs GCSEs are roughly equivalent to the Junior Cert If you scroll down you'll find it worked out for you, they've done the equivalent points for the Leaving Cert, qualifciations are in alphabetical order, look under Irish Leaving Cert http://www.ucas.ac.uk/students/ucas_tariff/tarifftables/

GCSE's are equivalent to the Irish junior cert. A levels are equivalent to the irish leaving cert but if you are applying for college in Ireland you should take into consideration that you can apply as a mature student if you are 23 years of age or older ( I don't know what age you are) depending on the course you want to do. As a mature student you can be accepted without any leaving cert or A levels. During this process you are interviewed and are selected depending how well you do.This also depends on what course you want to do obviously you couldn't be a doctor going this route but there are alot of courses that have places available this way.

As far as I am aware GCSE's aren't the same thing as the Leaving Cert, they are the same as the Junior Cert. It's A-Levels you need, I don't think GCSE's are worth anything for UCAS

Sadly they cannot be converted. Except for maths and english the rest are useless any way.
