Where to go in France?

Where should I go? France or Ireland?

  • I'm in high school, and have been offered the opprotunity to go to France and Ireland. Either one would be absolutely fantastic, and I'm very excited! But my parents will only pay for one, even if I get a job. The France trip is sponsored through my school, so it would be a very organized trip and it'll be about 10 days. For the Ireland trip, I would be going just with one of my friends, and we'd be traveling on our own and staying at her friends' houses (she's Irish), and it would last about 2 weeks. I would love to go to both places and I just can't decide.

  • Answer:

Toss a coin. Both places are great.

The thing is, you can always go on a very organised trip to France or any place else for that matter. You don't always have the opportunity of travelling with a local and staying in people's homes in a country. So as long as you and your friend are both pretty easy going and aren't likely to end up wanting to pull each other's hair out, I'd probably go with the Ireland trip.

I've been to both places, and this is my advice: Ireland is very beautiful and has hills everywhere and lots of nice people with the constant ring of irish music in the streets, but in France they have amazing foods, beautiful weather, lots of nice people and fun things to do. If it were me, I'd go to France.

I'll get killed for this but I would opt for France, 2 weeks schlepping around Ireland to friends of friends who may or may not know you're coming doesn't appeal - whereas 2 weeks in the home of the Birkin handbag & Vincent Cassel, who could resist that? : ) Talk to your friend about the trip to Ireland, is she giving people forewarning she's coming or just planning to land up on them? Save your money & organise something properly to go to Ireland

I'm from Pennsylvania and when I landed in Ireland I thought that I flew around for 6 hours and landed back in Pennsylvania. I didn't think it was greener than our land as everyone says. I loved the castles and the city of dublin. The bars, the fights. Our hotel. My favorite place was Kilkenny where my family is from. I would suggest France for you. Great food, great cites, you will see more if it's organized with your school.

France. My descendants came from Ireland and the people there still think of ale as haute' cuisine and lots of it, 11.3 liters/person on average in 2009, At least in France they have decent champagne.

If you go to france youll be wondering what to do all the time that is different than what you have already done. The nightlife has no atmosphere and the people are stuck up their own holes. In Ireland you will meet a multitude of friendly people, there is always something different to do or to see, and the Nightlife is brilliant especially in Galway Dublin Cork or Limerick. And belfast in Northern Ireland
