Quick vacation idea?

Planning on traveling to Ireland from U.S.. Have no idea where to start my vacation and what to do!!!?

  • My wife and I are planning a vacation to Ireland within the next year. The thing is we have no idea where to start! Where is a great place to start our vacation? What do we visit? Where should we stay? Should I drive through or stay in one city? PLEASE HELP and let me know what you think. Thanks!

  • Answer:

you will probably land in Dublin, so I'd recommend staying in Dublin for 3 days, and then head west. It all depends on how long you plan to visit, but Galway city is a must, 2 days, then travel south, driving around the coast of Clare, and going to Kerry and west Cork. To me, they are the most scenic places, I would take 4-7 days to do this, staying overnight in small towns. Come back to Dublin via Wexford and Wicklow, taking in Glendalough. It all depends on how long you want to visit for, how much money, and I'd recommend hiring a car, but remember we drive on the left, and use stick shifts, the roads are narrow, especially in small towns, and in general Ireland is expensive. I believe the dollar is improving against the Euro, so it might be better value next year. Enjoy your trip. http://www.discoverireland.ie/ http://www.visitdublin.com/ http://www.visitireland.com/attractions/index.html
