How much for spending money on a trip to Scotland?

Spending money for a week long trip to Scotland and Ireland?

  • My best friend and I are flying to Edinburgh Scotland on a Friday (arriving on Sat) for Spring break. While there we are going to take a cargo plane to Ireland for a few days. We will be returning the following Saturday (Getting home sunday). I was wondering how much spending money I should expect to bring? I want to have a good time there, be able to go out and drink, buy gifts, etc but not live too lavishly at the same time. Any advice?? Thank you in advance!

  • Answer:

"we are going to take a cargo plane to Ireland for a few days" a cargo plane?????? No you will take a passenger plane you won't fly on cargo planes................ .....and where is 'home' as Scotland in in the UK and ireland is the Republic of Ireland ......so if you need visa's make sure you have them for both countries Only you know what your spending habits are like, Ireland is expensive, very expensive and even more expensive for tourists as they go to all the expensive places....

It's like you think Ireland is a part of Scotland. Jeepers. How much money you need depends on where you're going and where you will be staying.

You aren't going to see much of either country really in just 7 days. Not sure if you need to include hiring a car/public transport/accommodation? You can work on approximately 100 Euro per day spending money in Ireland if you want to enjoy yourself & go out for drinks etc. Not sure about Scotland.
