What college course should i go for?

I want to go do a music course in college after school but how do I know which course to choose?

• I love music and I want my job to be in music. I'm thinking Ballyfermot. How do I know which one to choose when I know NOTHING about any of them? Music production sounds cool by the name, but I have NO clue what it entails or what you need for it or what you even do in it. So I'm not going to choose it when I haven't a clue what its about. I will be doing music for my Leaving Cert, I didn't do it for Junior Cert though, but in music in my school, they don't teach you about production or anything, so how will I know what that is even about? The same goes for the Music Management course. I am hoping to get work experience in a recording studio around Dublin sometime, so that I can get a feel of what its about. I live in Donegal so I'm not sure if it will happen..It probably won't because I have no connections to anyone, I don't even know any recording studios. I could google it and probably email them and ask about work experience, but still.. Back to the courses...Any help? I looked at the descriptions but it doesn't tell me what I need/want to know. I don't want to spend alot of money putting myself into college then not liking the course I chose, so what can I do?

  If you click on the course it will tell you the difference between them, the HND courses are usually two years and involve more than other courses. Ballyfermot has an open day in April, so if you're interested in finding out more it might be worth going to. If you did want to do a course that involves playing music there is a rock school course as well.
