  • Answer:

You do not qualify for a British passport by just living in the United Kingdom as European Union citizen. However you may apply for naturalization after having lived in the United Kingdom for longer than five years. http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/britishcitizenship/eligibility/naturalisation/standardrequirements/ .. The application for naturalization involves a fee of £470 for people under the age of 18 years. I really don't understand why you want to get a British passport. The Spanish passport allows you the almost same rights in the United Kingdom except for voting for the members of the U.K. parliament..

You can't obtain a British passport unless you are a British citizen If you were born outside the UK & your parents are not British citizens (or they weren't British citizens at the time of your birth) then you are not a British citizen & can't apply for a British passport You need to contact the Embassy of the country you are a citizen of & get an application for a passport from them - the quickest & easiest way to resolve your dilemma is to speak to your parents, as you are under 18 you'll find they need to do some of the work to get you a passport any way

you need to be a british citizen to obtain a british passport you can gain this through having british parents who are british by birth or naturalisation( as long as they were naturalised before you were born) on certain occasions you can gain it through treaty rights (dependant on your nationality) or if your parents had indefinitely leave to remain in which case you will need to call us and we can ask you some more questions to identify if you are eligible.
