My boyfriend's from Manchester and loves it there. Although he may warn you because recently its gotten its nickname of Gunchester :s But other than that everything he's told me about sounds pretty spectacular

Manchester has some nice suburbs and all that you require 10/10

Cumbria is agreat place carlisle, is great for the night life restaurants etc. Houses are pretty cheap to rent or buy. Then there is newcastle further north better night life more shops etc than carlisle, houses are a bit more pricey, but there is a lot more fighting going on than there is at carlisle. If your wanting the middle then I suggest manchester

Come to Manchester - it has everything you require, and more. And the people are very friendly too!

I'm from Grimsby and wouldn't suggest there but Cleethorpes is an up and coming place with loads of clubs, bars and the housing prices are rising although still cheap. People are friendly, good shopping, getting some good restaurants and generally doing pretty well. Newmarket is a great place too and close to Cambridge which is a great place to go out in but it is slightly higher in cost and maybe not far enough North.

I agree, Manchester's a great place to live. (having said that, I've lived here all my life (26 yrs) and am considering moving to Sheffield)
