No, a UK visa only applies to the UK (and for citizens of some countries including India, for the Republic of Ireland - but for visitor visas only, not student visas). You require a Schengen visa, and a return ticket out of the Schengen area (e.g. back to UK).

no a UK student visa is for UK, Switzerland is not part of the UK... if your going on holiday just for a few weeks, you dont need a visa just a valid passport... but if your going to visit Switzerland as a tourist for a couple of months, or a year you will need a tourist visa, ask the swiss embassy they will advice you more..
