How do you get to essex by train from London?

Route to Essex from N.London?

  • How can I get from North London to Essex? Any idea of time period if I was to go by car ? Any idea of time period by train, and how I'd go about getting there by train. Any idea of costs would be helpful too =D Thanks!

  • Answer:

I would take the A4006 and the A5 to the A406, then the A406 eastbound. You then have the choice of the M11 at Redbridge, the A12 at Gants Hill or the A13 at East Ham, depending on your Essex destination. A more longwinded option is to take the A404 to junction 18 of the M25 (Rickmansworth) and to follow the eastbound M25. Possible exit points are for the M11, A12, A127 or A13

I go from Borehamwood to Loughton and it takes me 30 Min's door to door using the M25 as long as there are no major holdups. Does that help?

Take the M11 by car. Takes about 15 minutes on a good day. Train takes much longer depending on where in Essex. Plus it costs alot.

Use Google maps (http://maps.google.co.uk/) Click 'Get directions' tab, and enter your information. I'm not sure about the cost...or travel options.
