A man from england is trying to send me package could it be a scam?

• I met this guy in an online dating site I'm just wondering why not over a week he will send me an electronic goods.only to find out that the courier company was asking me 300 US D for me to be able to claim the package. Is it really true Or its just another form of scam?And take note accdg.to the guy he put big amount of money inside how come?for all I know customs are examining all the things inside the package.

  100% SCAM 1 - Any time you meet somoene online who wants to either send you something or wants you to send money it's a SCAM 2 - the SENDER pays all fees, not the receiver. If there were $300 to be paid, the guy who sent it would have to pay those fees, NOT you 3 - You cannot send money - nobody would be that stupid. You don't mail money - you do a bank transfer from one bank account to another 4 - the ONLY way you would be asked to pay any money would be if there were customs duty, and you would receive a letter in the mail to your home address from your country's customs department to pay them directly. You don't pay the courier 5 - the UK does not accept US Dollars so there is no reason why a UK courier company would ever ask for dollars for anything There is no money - there is no package Let me guess, he claims to be British, usually pretends to be an engineer.
