I usually budget about $4500 for a trip to the USA from the UK. You can work that budget down a bit if you are only going for a week, but depending on your choice of city and hotel there may not be much room for savings. To get a better idea, use a BRITISH website (expedia.co.uk) and get a package price for flights and hotel. Flights are always cheaper on British sites than on US ones. For one week, stick to London, but remember that Heathrow is about 20 miles out of the centre.
