What is the American equivalent of a British 2:2 degree?

Degree from an American University in UK void?

• I'm finishing up my college (university) career very soon. Was shown possible job prospects in the UK here recently. I have heard that a 4 year Bachelors degree from an American University doesn't necessarily count for much in the UK. I'm not sure exactly how the University system works in the UK (i.e. what the equivalent of a 4 year Bachelor's degree is). I have also heard the contrasting side and was told it was fine to have a degree from an American University in the UK. Just looking for information on whether or not this is true and to get the information from citizens of the country instead of fellow Americans. Thanks

  The quality of your degree is not the problem, it's probably as good as a UK one. The problem is that under EC law all employers are required to advertise any vacancies across the entire EC and recruit from there whenever possible. Right now the EC has about 30 million unemployed (and rising) and many of them have degrees, so you at the end of a very long list.
