Where is "place of issue" on UK passport?

What should I put for "place of issue" for my UK visa application?

  • I am currently filling out the Tier 4 UK visa application, and I don't know what to put for the place of issue of my passport. This information isn't on it. Issue Authority is "United States Department of State", and I've heard that people just put United States for place of issue. Any informative answer would be greatly appreciated, especially from those who have went through or are going through the same dilemma as I!

  • Answer:

Was it issued at a particular passport office? It sounds like you should put 'USA'. Nowadays, I answer 'UK' for that question. We have to send off for our passports rather than go to an office so it's an appropriate answer.
