Where to go camping in UK?

Best places to go camping in the South of England/ UK?

  • Hi, I'm looking for a good place for me and my boyfriend to go camping for the weekend, Fri-Mon, in the south of England, not too far from London(2.5 hours max on train). Preferably near the coast and in easy reach to a train station as we don't drive. We have our own tent, but would love some ideas about the best spots in the UK :) Please share your tips!

    Go to the New Forest, it is a beautiful place and there are loads of camp sites dotted all over the place.

In the New Forest, there is a good campsite at Brockenhurst and a direct line from Waterloo to Bournemouth stopping at Brockenhurst. Hollands Wood Forestry Commission Site has all the facilities you will need for tenting. Have a good time.

i would try torbay....cosists of brixham, paington torquay....the trains call in the latter two....great easy to use buses...take the x80 to totnes if you have time...and a must visit is Kingsweir, and Dartmouth...heaven on earth...l like it can you tell

There are many great places to go camping in the south of England. The best places that have the most camp sites and alot of beaches are either Devon or Cornwall. Of course, DEvon is going to be closer and have more camp sites and more beaches than cornwall, but cornwall has more facilities for people on holiday like attractions, go-karking, adventure parks for kids etc. Most adults thou, preffer to head over to Devon, as typically there are more beaches and more camp sites. Nice places I would recommend thats easy to get to by train, would include Sidmouth, weymouth, Seaton and also poole and lyme regis are really good places to go over camping. most cam sites usually have alot of facilities within for campers, usually including take-aways, club-house etc. Hope you find a good place
