Where is the cheapest place to live in England?

Where is the most friendliest place to live in England?

  • So, I've lived in North London for my whole life and most people are very unfriendly. I mean, you can't take a glance at someone without them wanting to cause trouble or if you say "Hi" or smile at someone that doesn't know you they'll think you're weird. I'm currently at school and I hardly have any friends because the girls here are so bitchy for no reason. They've judged me and made assumptions about me when they haven't even had a proper conversation with me. I had enough of all the bad treatment and loneliness I've been feeling. I'm not saying I don't have friends, because I do have friends but they're not good ones. When me and my mum eventually move, I want to make a fresh start in a new place where I can make some proper friends. So, I was wondering: Where is a good place to live in England where the people are friendly, there are good shops, nice restaurants, cinema's and things to do.. So, a place kinda like London, but with friendlier people.. Thanks in advance.

  • Answer:

Well I live in Burton Upon Trent - people here are universally friendly. I am originally from Birmingham and have also lived in Derby but like Burton best. Durham is really nice too and the people are very welcoming, it feels like a really homely place. Unlike other contributors I don't like Manchester, I find the people to be very rude there and not friendly at all and in Liverpool I find them friendly to the point of invasive and overly familiar. Its all about what you are comfortable with as a person and your personality plays a big part in where you feel at home.

london, though expensive high living cost manchester very great nightlife safe community liverpool also has great chains of independent store which will bring excitement and variety also regular living cost but does get pretty cold so pretty much top 3 in my book but do some independent research so you will know hwat you're going into economy, living cost, and weather wise then make a well thought out move and good luck have fun in England!

As a rule of thumb, the further away from London you live, the friendlier people are. Winchester is like a tiny London. It was once the capital of Wessex, so has a lot of ancient buildings and history. It has a picture postcard High Street with small friendly shops. Many residents live in vast houses and commute to London. Some of them are a bit snooty. However, the real locals are friendly and come from all sorts of backgrounds. There is plenty to do in the area. Southampton and Bournemouth are within easy reach and offer more to younger people.
