Whether i can get passport while uk settlement visa is under process?

i wish to go to india on urgent basis,but my passport is uk embassy , uae, for uk settlement visa process, is there any way to obtain my passport before stamping visa

Answer:
You can request the return of the passport but it will stall your settlement visa application so you will have to resubmit it and pay the fee again when you return after your Indian trip.
