Do you realise how difficult it is to get into Oxford university ? As for the telephone line, i think that's the last thing you should be worrying about.

Can't answer the others but as for the telephone line - the VAST majority of houses already have one installed so you just ring up BT (British Telecom) and tell them you'd like to start a new account. If there isn't a line, once again, you just ring BT and they come and fit one, costs about £120 though :-)

A good thing to do is come over as a language student for a few months. There are lots of schools that combine that with staying with a family, where you help out the family with children. We have hosted such student quite a few times. gives you the opportunity to get used to the language and the people without commiting yourself for too long

Don't come here, its not that great. There's a lot of racism due to the immigration problem. Go to the us honey, more opportunities and friendlier people.

!Why? UK is no better than Italy! Is it? I am from the UK, my 'dream' was always to move to the USA! Why? because I had seen all the movies, I thought I had a complete understanding of their way of life etc etc. I have since traveled around quite a bit, including America, I have worked with American folk, I like America, I like American folk, but there is no place like home! I know your question is asking about telephone access, and can you get into Oxford ? But if you are asking only that , then your answer is , yes plenty of telephone access, no chance of Oxford! OK that has answered your questions? Now the advise, whether you want it or not! Invest a few Euros spend a bit of time in the UK, make up your own mind. Is this the place you want to be? If so why? I have been to many places in Italy, I like it, I like the people, I like the sun, but it's not home!
