Student exchange from UK to America?

• im 16 and am doing my final year in high school in north wales. i would love to go on a year out to america to stay with another family, preferably with a kid around my age.. ive been to america once and that was earlier this year, ive wanted to go for years before that and now im in love with everything about it, im in my last year at high school and my mum suggested it would be amazing for me to go to america for a year, this idea came about because ive previously been on two exchanges to france and one of my friends who i went to stay with has recently moved to texas to do an exchange for a year, all though im conscious about my AS and A levels i would like to go for 6 months or maybe more depending on what is available with my grades, i know i would study out there. So i'm going to speak to him about it but i would like to know what are the best companies to look out for when im researching this, it's early days but i know but it would be an amazing experience for me and would really appreciate your help :D

  I am not sure what the procedure would be for you going from the U.K. to U.S., but I would think that the school you are enrolled in would help you with an exchange program. I am an American who studied in France as a university student years ago, and it was my university that helped me find a good program for me, and also helped me apply for a student visa and the like. Apart from that, I am not sure of any other route you would take. It depends how you continue your education. I hope something here helped you though. One piece of advice: remember there is more to the U.S. than New York and California. :) Many of you seem fascinated with those states, and while they have their good points, they are not representative of the entire country.
