I'm American, fiance is Dual US/UK citizen and we want to move to England right after the wedding?

  • I'm American, and my fiancee is dual US/UK, but he currently lives in the US and has all his life (his mom is from England, which is how he has dual citizenship). We currently live in the US and intend to live here until we get married next January. Right after our wedding (like within a month) we want to move to England to be with his side of the family. I know he doesn't need a visa since he's a british citizen, but I know I do. Do I apply for a marriage visa, since he's a British citizen (but has never lived there)? How long is the processing time? I can't apply for a marriage visa until after we're married, but I heard processing time takes months, and we want to move there right away. Could I apply for a fiance visa, then switch it to a marriage visa after we're married (but we're getting married in the US) This is a unique situation, and I can't find any info about it anywhere else online. I hope you understand what I meant!! Thanks for your help!

If you want to live in the UK with your husband you will need a spouse visa BEFORE arriving in the UK. To get one within a month is optimistic - unless all the paperwork is perfect and you pay a massive priority fee. Look at the UKBA website.
