Can I get into a good university??

(UK) can you still get a good job withought going to University?

  • Hi, I do BTEC Business level 3 in college and so far I'm doing well. I kinda dont want to go university and i was wondering will I still get a good job if I dont go in business. also what kind of jobs can I do in business if i pass my BTEC Business level 3. and will I be able to work my way up and have a good salary, something not too high but not too low, in the middle and will be able to cover everything as well as buy some luxuries. can someone give a good proper answer please and not something stupid. thankew.

  • Answer:

All of my friends who didn't go to uni are doing far better than the ones that did. A business degree doesn't count for much, from what I hear from a friend with a business degree. AlI my mates who're in management worked their way up from the bottom.

If you are doing a BTEC level 3 National Diploma this equates to three GCE "A" levels. You could consider moving on to a BTEC HNC (Part-Time) or HND (Full-time) in Business. A HND would normally take 2 years. This would improve your chances of getting a job. I am sure you don' t need me to tell you that times are tough especially for young people looking for jobs. Maybe things will have improved in the 2 years it would take to do a HND. Its a gamble but what have you got to lose. As regards a non-business career, with the equivalent of 3 "A" levels you stand some sort of chance of getting a reasonable job with for example, banks, building societies, the Inland Revenue. However if you go down this route, you will need to have a good answer as to why you have given up on business if asked in an interview. I hope that helps a bit.

Yes, but BTECs are useless....did they not tell you they are the stupid persons A Levels? A person with A Levels can go on to get a good job, and work their way up. People with BTECs are on the same level as those with just GCSE's Speaking as an employer I wouldnt hire someone with BTECs over someone with A Levels. And Ive never interviewed someone so far who hasnt had A Levels.

University or not. There are no jobs in the UK. There is gong to be another recession soon from which we will never recover. (the last recession did so much damage that we cant survive the next) That will lead to exponential growth in unemployment. The future is quite grim, things are not going to get better. People will stop spending, shops will close, unemployment rises, less spending public services cut unemployment up less tax payers, welfare system collapses and the growing jobless are force to beg for food and become homeless. Our NHS falls apart the ill are left untreated. Britain will never be the same again and a university education is no help. All you can do is hope to win the lottery. @Yuuich There very little chance for anyone to become a police officer because all police recruitment has been stopped for the next 5 years

Yes if you can do well at job interviews. Turm up punctually. Look smart. Be articulate and enthusiastic. Turn off your phone and don't fiddle with it during the interview. More people fail interviews than exams
