  • Answer:

Rental property in Portsmouth does not come cheap, I'm afraid, and finding a 1 bed flat to suit your budget will be difficult, but not impossible. The majority fall in the price range of £400 to £550 per month. The North End, Copnor, Milton and Eastney areas would be worth looking at, although you would probably find more properties available in Southsea where, rather like North End, there is good and not so good, very much depending on the address. Here are a few agents to take a look at - http://www.leaders.co.uk/ http://www.new-era-agency.me.uk/PropertyManagement.aspx http://www.tenant-network.co.uk/?gclid=CI-yn_OhmJ8CFVBd4wodTC6EIA http://www.l4-lettings.co.uk/

Don't know what the going rate for flat/studio rent is Pompey is now but good areas to try are where big Victorian houses have been turned into flats/bedsits etc, such as Southsea (Elm Grove area and the seafront) or as you say, North End (off Gladys Avenue).
