Jobs for 13 year olds?

Are there any jobs for 13 year olds in the UK?

• So I've agreed to help my 13 year old friend out in finding a job as her parents are earning less in money, so she has no more pocket money and they have too cut back on a lot of things for her. So I did a bit of research and found the laws and terms for letting 13 year-olds work. The hard part is finding a suitable job though, her parents would never allow her to act of model, she can't be a pet sitter or anything, because she's allergic to animals, and its just seriously lame to work in McDo and stuff. Its also really geeky to do a paper round or milkman stuff. She is fine with becoming a baby sitter, but who is really goning to hire a 13 year old? If there are any others she could do, can you let me know? thanks x

  I would NEVER leave my child (or pets) with a 13 year old - I don't know any parents who would. So that idea of hers is out of the window, unless she can find a useless parent who doesn't care about their child's welfare and safety. She is too young to legally work in a shop, including any fast food restaurants as you have to be 16 and be in possession of a National Insurance number, which she won't have. She can see if her local hairdressers need help sweeping up hair or making drinks; chances are though, they won't pay someone else to do that as then it comes out of the salon's expenses. Most hairdressers sweep up the hair themselves after each client.
