What are some enclosed houses or small towns in England?
-
I plan to visit England for a while but i want to know where could i find quiet, far away houses or small towns that i can rent or buy. I don't want anything expensive because its only me and i also want to know the money difference from the US and England. I wouldn't mind if they are old but i want it to be in the outskirts of some place (doesn't matter where). Can anyone please!! give me anything that can help me.

Answer:
http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-to-rent/Stratford-Upon-Avon.html look around on this site for properties, this place might not be the best but do some research on towns that have what you want and look them up on here. stratford is where shakespeare was born and its a very old english town.

England, like the rest of the UK (Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland), is mainly rural. Therefore there are no shortage of places which are "quiet, far away". There is also no shortage of small towns. So I am going to suggest areas for you to carry out further research on in England only: the county of Cornwall the county of Devon the Peak District the Lake District in Cumbria, northwest England North Yorkshire County Durham the county of Northumberland in northeast England The price of accommodation can vary greatly from one place to another. As suggested use www.rightmove.co.uk to research property. Personally I would look for property on the outskirts of the small towns of Redruth or Camborne in the magnificent county of Cornwall. The small City of Truro is not too far away. There are excellent road and rail links and the coastal scenery is simply stunning.

There are hundreds of small towns and villages in England and the rest of UK. Houses are expensive compared to USA. They get slightly cheaper away from London and commuter routes. A modest home could cost $500,000. Unfortunately, although we like Americans, even if you had the money to buy a house, it would be very difficult to get a visa to allow you to stay permanently.

I would also check out cheshire or north wales coast if you like the coast.
