Is Scotland a country or a state?

Is scotland a country or is it like a state?

  • Answer:

Scotland is a country in it's own right and it is also one of the three countries which make up the island of Great Britain. The other two being England and Wales. If you add in Northern Ireland then you get what is known as the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
