Good fishing places in the uk?

im taking my mate for a fishing trip for his 30th. i need to know if there are some good fishing spots, right next to a cheap caravan site, the more money we save on the caravan, the more we have for fishing :) would like it to be no more than an hour and a half drive from merseyside all answers will be greatly appricated! thanks!

Why not check out the Camping and Caravanning club site at Boroughbridge? Only 100 miles from Liverpool and has fishing on site.
