I am from the US and i want to move to england and have a good career there. should i move??

I think its a good idea - though its costly with not much advantage out of paying that. I would consider Switzerland.

If its what you really want to do then come here, you are welcome but don't do it just for the reasons above.....let me tell you a bit about UK. You say you hate pres Bush, well Tony Blair is his lap-dog so if you move here you will still be living in a country where Bush pulls the strings. You say you hate illegal immigrants, well UK is a haven for illegal immigrants! I have no issues with foreigners coming here so long as they work and pay for their own things. But I do agree with you. We do have good comedy, Brtish humour is very cool. most of the world doesn't understand it so its cool that you do!

I think, if you want to move to England then go for it, but please, make sure you've got a home and a job to go to, the down side to moving to any other country is that you may end up destitute and homeless, we've got a lot of those sort of people already. There aren't that many jobs for English people in England, so good luck with that. The food is OK in England, especially chips. Some English words that you'll need to know: f aggotts - sort of like meatballs chips - potatoes fried in oil and generally served with fish suspenders - things to hold stockings up gas - fuel for heating the home f aggots = gays chips = crisps braces = suspenders petrol = gas I hope that's helped you. darn - emmiboo said what I was going to say first. If you want to come, come but the UK isn't any better or worse than America. Blair is Bush's lap dog and hopefully will be kicked out soon but maybe not before the two of them cause a nuclear war or worse. Illegal immigration is rife with a great deal of discord being caused amongst the UK population as shown by the recent local elections where the rather dangerous BNP got a lot of votes and seats. If you don't know who the BNP are they are an ultra right wing nazi party who believe anyone without a white skin should be thrown out of the UK. Personally, I'm with emmiboo - anyone who can bring something useful to the country and not strip the state of every penny they can scrounge is welcome. It's those who think coming here is going to lead to an "easy" life with everything paid for with taxpayers money that annoy me. Violent crime is rife and getting worse with many people scared to go out alone at night. England is also one of the most expensive countries to live in and the wages don't cater for the costs of things (ignor so called "average" wages - most people only earn about £12k to £14k tops - the £24k plus that's quoted is adding the highest and lowest so the figure is false). Homes in the south east can vary but most are in the £100,000 mark and that's for a one bed flat and that price probably won't buy anything in London. Houses with 3 bedrooms or more you're looking at more like £250k plus. Four pints of milk cost £1 and petrol is around 97 pence per litre but some places it's higher than that. Green spaces are disappearing fast (especially in the south) with the high demand for new housing and road systems to those houses whilst the existing infrastructures of water, power, dentists, schools, hospitals and doctors aren't coping with that growth and aren't growing fast enough to deal with all the extra people. Saying that though, the UK is a great place, we even have sunshine and good food catering for all types as we have a bustling (honest) immigrant population too (including my Italian dad who's always worked and never claimed a penny of government handouts). Some of the UK is truly beautiful and you're never too far from the coast. We have a free health service (even if it is flawed) and a generally open minded and welcoming population (although, as anywhere, there are exceptions). If you have a skill, want to work hard, have somewhere to live and really want to come, please do so.

by all means move to england i wish you all the best ,as you want to work in teaching it should be no problem being able to work here its not a bad country to live in,dont take any notice about the food being crap we cater for all kinds e.g chinese indian italian american irish ect ect ect and of course the good old english food .we will welcome all americans with open arms .GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS.BY THE WAY SWITZERLAND IS EXPENSIVE
