Storing luggage at Manchester airport or train station?

I am flying from Manchester airport in a few days, arriving at Manchester by train. I want to go to Manchester a bit earlier and have a look around the city. Where can I leave my luggage so I don't have to carry it around? Are there any lockers at the Manchester airport or at one of the train stations in the city centre? (Oxford Road or Piccadilly)?

Answer:
The Excess Baggage Company has a left luggage office on platform 10 at Piccadilly station, open Monday - Saturday 0700 - 2300, Sunday 0800 - 2300. Not cheap - if I remember correctly it's about £6 per item per day.

Don't know about the rail stations, but airports do not allow stored luggage anymore thanks tt terrorism.
