I have received an email from 'Yahoo Awards Center, 124 Stockport Road, Longsighted, Manchester, M60 2DB UK?
-
It told me that every two years Yahoo, AOL & Windows Live, organise a Prize Promotion and that Yahoo and Microsoft collect the emails of all those active on line etc. I was informed that I had won £1000000.00 on this year's promotion. I was asked to send all my details to a Dr Nelson Edward on the following email address [email protected] +27-787-786213. I thought I would ask you about it as I do not trust it at all!!

Answer:
Of course it's a fraud. 124 Stockport Road, Longsight, has been used for years as a fake address. Were you never told that if something looks too good to be true, it is? Who is going to give you a prize for a competition you never entered?

How could you even THINK about this. This just shows your stupidity. Of course this is an absolute lie. There are a bunch of email spams like this asking for your private information.

if an email asks you to send all your details its a scam. Think about it, if its really Yahoo then they will have all the details of you that they would need. Report it to yahoo and google scam reporting, and report it on scam sites

I have never received this kind of email before, however I have seen plenty of questions and answers about it on this site, and sorry to say it is a hoax/spam. It seems that Yahoo does not organise any prize draws or lotteries.

You can't have won it because I have won it now for the past 5 times it has been drawn! You are so being scammed.

Most probably a scam!!! If it sounds too good to be true, it is!!!

You just got scammed. These are nothing but attempts to steal your money and your identity. That's a South African phone number - why would you call a South African mobile number if the prize is in Manchester UK? Why would Yahoo ever use a @gmail address that belongs to their biggest competitor? Why would a Doctor have anything to do with an internet promotion? Why would Yahoo, AOL and Microsoft work together on anything when they are direct competitors? Besides, none of these companies ever do lotteries - Yahoo has an entire page warning about this scam and how to report it http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/yahoomail/abuse/abuse-63.html If you haven't responded, mark it as Spam and delete it. If you did respond, contact your local police as you are now the victim of identity theft How is it that in 2010 people are still falling for this scam that's been around at least 10 years?

I have that happening to me all the time and I don't trust any of them due to all the fraud, getting into peoples bank accounts leaving people destitute I just delete. delete, delete that old saying if it sounds to good to be true it probably not true. Don't get sucked in.

If I want to give such kind of huge money to someone i would not contact him/her through email asking her details and etc..it's absolute scam,or if you really want to check then give them a call before doing something. If you send them all your details, might be you will need to pay £1000000.00 to them
