How long does it take to get to Gatwick?

How long does it take to get from gatwick airport to epping by train?

  • Answer:

One trip is 90 minutes, but it has an awkward change in the middle. (1) It is 31 minutes by First Capital connect from Gatwick to London Station (2) Now you have to get across the river and go about a 1000 yards to "Bank Station". You can take the Northern Line for a 2 minute ride across the river. As Bank-Monument is the largest station you have ever seen (it is essentially along tunnel under a street), this may involve a considerable amount of carrying luggage down long hallways. (3) From Bank station you can take the Central Underground Line to Epping (36 minutes) ==================== the intermediate step is awkward, but I don't know anyway to avoid it.

you could take the Southern train from Gatwick Airport to Victoria station in London ... then use the tube ... take the Victoria line northbound two stops to Oxford Circus, then interchange onto the Central line eastbound, making sure that the destination of the train is Epping and not somewhere else like Hainault ... Victoria to Epping takes about an hour, cost £4.50 cash fare ... Gatwick to Victoria takes 30 minutes ... so altogether that's going to be nearly two hours allowing time for the two changes ... by the way, from Gatwick opt for the Southern train to Victoria and not the Gatwick Express, it's much cheaper and there's not much difference in journey time for trains use http://www.thetrainline.com/buytickets/ tube map http://www.tfl.gov.uk/assets/downloads/standard-tube-map.pdf
