Best Place to live between London & Birmingham?

  • Hi All I am looking for a place to live between London & Birmingham. My wife works in Birmingham and so, she is planning to take the train to Birmingham. I work in London Uxbridge, and I drive to my work place. So, which is the best place for us to live, so that my wife can take the train to Birmingham (single train, as changing is a pain) & I can drive to London (Uxbridge)? I am considering couple of options: Milton Keynes - But, roadworks on M1 & traffic on M25 is the problem Oxford: I can take M40 from Oxford, and my wife can take a direct train to Birmingham. Are there any other options? Please suggest. Cheers Chandu

    The sensible option is for one of you to get another job. If you can afford to commute those distances then one of you can afford to accept a lower salary. Frankly I am appalled by people who expect the world to breathe their noxious fumes, because they are not prepared to sacrifice their insane ambitions for a more pragmatic healthy lifestyle.
