Is Beezid.com really legit?

Fellow Londoners: was "Alwigh', boy?" really a legit greeting down in the Eastend, when my dad was a kid?

• Only, that's how my old man greets ME all the time, and he says that's just how they talked years ago, where he comes from- (he's a Shoreditch boy, by the way, if that helps.) Was that actually a legit greeting down in the Eastend, when my dad was a boy, or what? Only, I've never heard anyone else use it, and no-one uses it down in Edmonton, (where I come from.) Well?
