How long does the x68 bus take from west croydon to waterloo?

  • I have just got a new job in Victoria(by station).I live in Croydon. I am looking for cheaper way to get to Victoria besides the British Rail (costs on Oyster card which will work out very expensive on an ongoing basis on peak times). I understand the X68 bus is the fastest bus option(express) and cheapest. How long would it take from West Croydon to Waterloo?Would it be walking distance from there to Victoria (Vauxhall Bridge by Victoria station) or is there a bus to take from Waterloo to Victoria? How long will the journey be from West Croydon to Victoria taking these two buses? Weekly bus pass is £17.80 a week which is a massive saving to the £50+ cost a week on Oyster).The trade off is unfortunately a longer commute time, but I am okay with that seeing as I am working 12 hour shifts and will not be travelling 5 days a week to Victoria.

It takes around 45 minutes - BUT - as you are working shifts, and 12 hours at that, you are unlikely to be able to catch the bus each way, as it only works in the morning peak towards London, and evening peak towards Croydon. To travel by bus from West Croydon to Victoria, you can get the 109 or 250 to Brixton, then the 2 to Victoria. The whole journey should take you around 1 hour 30 minutes. For your information - Waterloo to Victoria has the 507 (Red Arrow) service between the two. To walk, go across Westminster Bridge (Vauxhall Bridge is nowhere near Waterloo, and the X68 goes nowhere near it).
