What are night clubs like in London? Which are some of the main ones?

  Hard to generalise, you really have the full range. However because it's London, there's one thing you can be sure of it's not cheap, if you compare to out of London prices that is. Big/Famous places like MoS and Fabric, probably are a little expensive for what they are, and you probably have as much fun anywhere else, unless you're going for a specific DJ. West End/Picadilly has a lot going on, if you're looking for cheap then there's usually somewhere having a student night type thing on any given night except for Saturday. If you go West of Picadilly (including Cafe de Paris) you have a different scene, most of the places are rather expensive, and exclusive. Two of my best nights out were at Boujis, and Cafe de Paris. You can also guess the types that would go to these places, women are beautiful, but beauty costs a lot to maintain! If you are a student, then the best night out is Friday night at King's, though don't expect to pick someone up there, it's not the place. EDIT - "what do people go to nightclubs for really?" lots of reasons, if you're a City Boy, it means getting lashed on Champagne. Many students have the aim of getting as drunk as possible at least cost. Lots of my friends go to dance...Fabric is full of DnB fans out for a night of head banging. Pacha revives the spirit of Ibiza. So you see lots of clubs have their own "scene."
