How old must i be to stay in a hotel?

baiscally im gunna get my mum to pay for a hotel with her money for a hotel room for me ... will they let me stay there on my own without my mum if she pays.. im 15 .. ?? or should i just not tell them ??. and pretend my mums staying with me.. i wont be needing room service.. or anything ?

well, im 17 and ive done it :) They dont tend to like it but, they cant say no. Usually they have a policy up about the age limits (if there is a website) if not then dont bother. they prefer anything from the age 16 upwards but i done it when i was 14 :) but hotels vary
