What is life like in london and barcelona?

Even though I have travelled alot. I do have a soft spot for London, I love New York but it is not?

  • The same as London, when I shop I dont want to be pushed out of the way by people. I love all the old little places. I love Harrods and Harvey Nicks but I love the river and the Modern art gallery all the galleries really. I love Barcelona because it is like being in London except right in the centre you have the zoo and its mad when you come out and its like regent street. Also the beutiful beaches and the Harbour and the Transport system is heaven so many choices of course the Goudi quarter is just beutiful and all those buildings and balconys. I even forgot to eat in Barcelona just in awe. I love it because everyone gets the chance to exhibit there art work no matter what form it takes. I love Greece for its laid back way of life its openeness and its friendliness. I love Africa for its beutiful desert and the colours at different times of the day and the mountains. I love snow and desert and the peace at the mountain top I have been very priveledged.What do you find amazing?

    i like london and also like york,bristol.i like walking along the main streets,but you walk down an alley way and it's a different world alltogether

Likewise, I love London. There's so much I could say about it; I've lived here all my life and it's amazing. I'm pretty well-travelled but nowhere even comes close. xxx

I love London for its small streets as well as grand streets and the history - something that is lacking in american cities where the old historic buildings are imitations. Have never been to new york but cairo is amazing - there are people pestering you for bakshish and its dirty but it is simply delightful place which is mysterious and is so so beautiful along the river nile or the pyramids, the people are friendly and lively and the food is gorgeous and the service is fantastic. barcelona is good but pay attention to pick pocketers! I love the gothic quarter - like so many southern mediterranean towns i love the old quarters of those places and the laid back sunny beachy vibe. have you been to asia? i love the small little streets with street vendors selling everything from street snacks to imitation handbags, the summer heat, the air conditioned super slick shopping malls and the shiny sky scrapers. I can go on forever about places I love. Everyone should travel more. I am shocked after a visit to the US where I met people who have never left the country!

I find london over powering. Which is weird as I was born there. I have never been to New York. That does not appeal to me either. I like carboot sales and bargains..lol

I think having a soft spot for London is the romantic view of someone who has experienced a small area of central London on a holiday. Most of us live in the suburbs and find London to be dirty, polluted, over priced, crime ridden and full of aggressive unpleasant people. What is special to me is the beauty of rural England. Favourite places Leith Hill (Surrey), Oare Hill (Wiltshire), Mortimer Forest (Shropshire/Herefordshire).

I was born in Scotland and later moved to London and it felt more like home than Scotland to me..though My Japanese wife had to move back to Tokyo,so Tokyo is where i live now.but i do miss London a lot..people are nicer,true multi cultural city,open culture,great mixture of restaurants,it has everything you could want and more..will be going back to London for 2 weeks next wednesday and looking forward to it ...anyone that has never been there GO NOW
