Things to do in Southampton and London?

Getting from South London to Southampton by tube/train? (5 stars to most informative answer)?

  • Hey, I am In South London (Surrey), and have access to the underground ( Found in Morden) and a train station (Found in Sutton). Also, I'm 16 years old I have no clue on prices and "zones" and stuff, but I need to get to Southampton on my own (hopefully with a friend). Any station in Southampton will be fine, but I don't know where to "switch" and stuff. If it helps, I can get to Central London easily, so, if it's easier to explain how to get to Southampton from London, then tell me that way :P. I know how to travel and how to use trains, I just never had to do it solo. So, to summarize, how do I get to Southampton from Surrey or London by public transport? If so, what sort of ticket(s) should I buy (Isn't there an "all day travel" ticket for like a £5?)? And, will my "Free Travel" on my oyster card still apply over there? Sorry I'm typing sloppy, very tired at the moment. :/ Thanks for all answers that I recieve! :)

  • Answer:

catch a tube or train to Waterloo main line. Trains from Waterloo run direct to Southampton. Your best stop would be Southampton central
