Work Overseas (London?

I am work for London Midland,and i have ID card as a staff,do i have to pay for ticket to go to London ?

• Last time when i was trying to get ticket to London,to travel London Midland train,i showed my ID card,and lady who was saling ticket didn`t even say that i don`t need to pay,but i`m London Midland staff,and i`m interesting do i need to pay to catch London Midland service???I know answer on my qestion,but for me realy interesting other mind`s......

  Ask your employer - the Terms and Conditions of your employment will document exactly what you're entitled to. I would be quite surprised if you're fairly junior staff and get free travel just by showing an ID card - in BR times staff had a card in addition to their ID card, which had 14 or 20 boxes marked on it; they would date a box and get free travel on that day and the next day, when they didn't use a dated box they paid 25% of the public fare. Looking at the ATOC Guide to Travel Facilities for staff who entered railway employment after 31/3/1996 - http://www.atoc.org/rst/_download/rules_guides/SRLS034_08%2003_%20TOCNE.pdf - things don't seem to have changed much. You are entitled to reduced rate travel in the UK after working for a month, and to free and reduced rate travel in most European countries after working for one year. As a BR management staff graded person who was made redundant after working over 20 years on the railway, I have a first-class pass which is valid for free travel over the whole of the old pre-1987 London Midland Region (not the London Midland TOC) - London to Carlisle, Holyhead to Nottingham, and gets renewed every five years for the rest of my life. The right to this was included in the Terms & Conditions of my contract of employment.
