Is it expensive to live in Bloomsbury?
-
Of course London, being such a metropolis, has a rather high cost of living, but is Bloomsbury very unreasonable? I'd love to purchase a nice flat here, but will refrain if the cost is too exorbitant. Also, how much would a nice flat cost in Bloomsbury? (if you had to guess) What say you? Thanks!

Answer:
A good two bedroom flat will be £400,000 to £750,000 depending on quality and location and a three bedroom flat about one million.

Yes, Bloomsbury is right in the heart of London and has a lot of buildings associated with London university and the British museum there, plu s other academic institutions and a few hotels . So not a lot left for housing. I estimate a 1 bed flat in Bloomsbury could need half a million pounds to buy

If you have to ask the price; then i think that yes, you should refrain. Flats/apartments don't come cheap in theatreland.
Yes it's expensive. But why don't you do some research yourself http://www.primelocation.com/uk-property-for-sale/search/?l=Bloomsbury&path=uk.england.london.central-london.bloomsbury&sr=s&pp=m&t=houseandflat&np=190000&xp=0&submit=search http://www.foxtons.co.uk/properties/uk-london-bloomsbury-27/flats-for-sale-in-bloomsbury.html http://www.findaproperty.com/areadetails.aspx?edid=00&salerent=0&areaid=0458 You can get one with some change from £700,000! If that's your budget, then go for it.

Yes, it's a lovely area though: See link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bloomsbury Depending on where you live- will affect the cost- it varies from street to street -literally! Check with local estate agents. http://www.foxtons.co.uk/estate-agents/bloomsbury.html
yes it is insanely expensive. and not that pretty either... why would you want to live amidst high rise buildings... if you want to buy a flat in london, please choose west london... like chiswick or richmond... they have beautiful views, europe-like atmosphere and much friendlier people

Yeah really expensive, but it's very central (zone 1) so you'd save money on transport costs. If you're looking for an area close by that's still relatively upmarket but cheaper, try Fitzrovia.
