How to get to shepherds bush empire: Where to park car or get train? Congestion charge?

• I am going to a concert in the Shepherds Bush Empire, London on Thursday at 9pm. I was wondering what the best way to get there is (I am travelling from Devon). If I drive all the way there, will there be a charge for driving through London at around 7pm? And if I did drive there, where could I park? If I parked outside of London and took the train in, which trains would I catch? If it finished at midnight (it starts around 8 or 9pm, would I still be able to get a train back, out of London and back to my car? I hope someone can help!

  Assuming that you would approach Shepherds Bush from the west, then you wont be going inside the congestion area. Parking around Shepherds Bush is not great - mainly residential backstreets. It's a case of getting lucky if you find a street spot. However there is an NCP car park in Charecroft Way behind the West 12 Centre, opposite Shepherds Bush Green, only about 5 minutes walk away. Train wise, the Empire is very close (six minutes walk maximum) to both Goldhawk Road and Shepherds Bush Market stations on the tube (Metropolitan & City Line - the pink one on the tube map). By law, public performances must end by aprox 11.15pm, and the last tube is around 12.15, so you have no problems there.
