Should i get a cab from heathrow airport or paddington?
-
so i plan to book a private cab on the day i arrive london, i got 2 options, which one will be a smarter choice? (will choose the 1st one if theres no big difference for the cost) 1. call for a cab at the airport to east london 2. take the heathrow express to paddington, then call for a cab there to east london any idea?

Answer:
2..i would take the heathrow express to paddington and then either pick up a cab at the rank outside or get the tube/train to east london. but yeah, check out the cost of a cab from the airport directly to east london first, obviously. But i reckon option 2 would be half the price. edit, If you have wheels on your suitcase you will manage a case and a bag, easy.Done it lots of times.

Cabs are expensive, especially from the airport, because they have to pay a premium to the airport. If you want the cheapest way, reconsider going by train. You can go all the way by underground; check the web site for info. . http://www.tfl.gov.uk/ Change at Barons Court for the District Line; you stay on the same platform.

You must be very rich - any sort of cab from anywhere to anywhere else in London is very expensive - whether you call it a private cab or a public one - a cab may be an option if there are 4/5 of you but for one person it is very expensive. Unless you mean you want to hire a chauffer driven car for the day (which will also be quite expensive) - but then you MUST do that before you arrive at the airport so that the car will be waiting for you. Whatever you do - you do NOT 'call' a cab at Heathrow or Paddington - they wait in ranks for you to board them - at Heathrow there are usually hundreds lined up - so many in fact that many of them have to wait outside the central area for a space to join the rank - and the reason there are so many of them - they charge tourists a fortune and make a great profit. The Underground is the way to go for all people who are not rich - the carriages are designed for people with luggage and the prices are very reasonable
