Is Wembley a good place to live near London England?

  • I will be moving to England within 2 years and trying to decide where to live. I would like to get a job at Pinewood Studios and wondering if Wembley is a feasible place to live. Also, is it a relatively safe area as I will be living alone.

    Wembley....hmmmm very 'multicultural', not somewhere I would choose myself. I wouldn't consider it a lovely place and not sure of the safety aspect. Pinewood Studios - I grew up near there!, look into Uxbridge/Hillingdon/Ruislip/Cowley - all could be less than half an hour drive to the studios / all a bit less London and therefore calmer than Wembley! Of course as man above says. Denham/Iver/Harefield would be much nicer places - but expensive to live there (Ozzy/Cilla Black various famous people have houses there) Good luck!

Where are you coming from ? That's vital. If it's from outside the EC then be aware that for all practical purposes it's impossible to get the essential work and residence permits. Just forget the idea. If you're an EC citizen and assuming you can get the job you want, them Wembley is not so bad. It's a cosmopolitan area but transport links are pretty good. Rents are cheaper than central London but even so a small 2 bedroom flat can easily cost £800 per month. It's reasonably safe by London standards. If there's a match on at Wembley stadium and your not going then I suggest you stay well away from the stadium or the approach roads to it.

Wembley is a very multicultural area with good transport links although areas like Ruislip, Northwood, Iver Uxbridge and Denham are far closer to Pinewood Studios
