It is one of the highest quality courses I have ever seen (with the exception of Udacity’s Android nanodegree) and very comprehensive as an introductory course although it felt more like a full nanodegree program. Part of its charm is that Sebastian Thrun himself explains most of the concepts in layman’s terms and you can tell he truly knows what he is talking about. I did get stuck in some quizzes and the final project but the forum for this particular course was vibrant and every question I got stuck at was already asked by someone else and answered by the legendary forum mentor Miles.
My best recommendation for you if you decide to take it is to buy Sebastian Raschka’s book on machine learning in Python: Python Machine Learning: Machine Learning and Deep Learning with Python, scikit-learn, and TensorFlow, 2nd Edition which can be ...

I do agree that $60k is high, but when one considers that you don't need to leave work, there's a lot of opportunity cost that students don't have to forgo. So... the math isn't as straight forward as some are presenting it here.
Say you make $50k a year and you choose to pursue this degree for $60k. OK, you're out $60k (plus interest if you're taking out loans).
Then say the degree is only $20k, but you need to quit your job and be on campus. In that case you are forgoing your $50k salary and then spending another $20k (plus loans, plus costs to move to Berkeley, etc)... that's at least $70k.

- If you’re just looking for a solid intro to data science, any of Udacity’s free programs are worth the time it takes to finish them. They’re also free!

I’m a bit confused by the question since USFCA offers a number of different Data Science Courses.
For certificate courses (Certificates), the cost is (generally) between $1,000 and $1,500 per course, depending on the course and if you are a USF alumni / Member of USF’s data institute.
These certificates are a great way to learn about one particular topic of interest (such as SQL, R, Python or Deep Learning).
The Masters of Analytics program (MS in Analytics - College of Arts and Sciences | University of San Francisco) has a tuition of $45K for the entire program. We, unfortunately, do not offer c

You can also take other Data Science related courses (such as CS, math and Statistics) at USFCA. The cost of these courses is about $1,000 per unit, so it depends on the number of units you are taking.
