There really is no single tool that will do this for you.

In order to make this work you will need to:

1 - Collect the email addresses of your visitors via some sort of form and then store that collected data in a database somewhere

2 - When you collect that data you need to also drop a cookie on that users device tied to their profile in your database so you can identify when that user has visited your website again

3 - Build logic and business rules either within your CMS or analytics tool that will look for that dropped cookie whenever someone visits your website and if a match is found make a call to the database with that cookie ID

4 - Business rules within your database that will then match that cookie id to a stored user id and if a match is found, then send that users email address or profile ID and a separate campaign ID to your email service provider

5 - Your email service provider or ESP will push out your email using the campaign template you created in your their system, stripping in the email address and any other PII into the email.

A web push will wake up your Website ‘service worker’ and display the notification only if the browser is still opened. But if the browser is closed, the notification is queued until the browser is opened again. Why? Because your web browser (Chrome, Firefox etc.) is not running in background on your system when you close it.

On mobile Android, Chrome web push behavior is different because the OS/system itself is the one receiving the push and will then wake up the browser app.

Obviously, you could link to any file. Your wretched virus for instance. But don't do that.

I will point out, this is not an answer to the question asked IN the question which describes a situation in which a download happens automatically when a site is visited. That's a different story, also possible and even more horrible to do and certainly not possible on youtube. I'm not going to answer it.

In order to check backlinks to your site, I would suggest signing up for Google Search Console. It’s free.

Once you have an account, you will be able to check all the back links to your site (both do follow links and no follow links) under Search Traffic – Links to Your Site.

Generally, this is seen as a poor user experience. There are better ways of approaching this. Great examples are Tiktok and Duolingo. Both let you use and explore their products. There are websites out there that you can outsource link building too. Though, I’d be hesitant if they are only doing that. Truly, you’d be better off investing the money in a PR firm, if budget allows. I do “link building” but have transitioned it to more of a PR role.

I’ve tried a handful over the years and they under deliver and have high costs.

You want links that bring traffic to your site. You’re not looking for link juice, you want relevant traffic.

I work with a steel door and window manufacturer out of Austin, my strategy with them was reaching out to architectural blogs and using their brand, high quality content and product their product quality to leverage a relevant backlink.

January 7th is when the first round of posts went up, and we saw a steady increase in rankings, but more important in more relevant traffic.

Money would be better spent developing an outreach plan, and implementing it yourself. Use the budget for hiring a data entry person or virtual assistant.
