It should be fairly easy to remove the bed on your Ranger. I'm getting ready to remove the bed on one of my Rangers and put a flatbed on it. The bed has several long bolts that extend through mounts under the bed, through a cushion, and then the frame. They are easy to see from under the truck bed, and can be removed with a ratchet and socket wrench. It should have 6 or 8 bolts holding it on.
Also you will want to disconnect the filler tube for the gas tank. There is a flexible tube you can usually disconnect it at. Be careful for sparks when handling gas tank, and be sure to cover inlet tube to prevent debris from entering tank while you are working on it.
Depending on your year truck, you may have other things to disconnect, so best to get a repair manual for yours. Also good site for Ford Ranger modifications of all types is the site at the Related Links.
