Note that the time between the trains is 16 minutes. Keep adding 16 until you get a time that is after 8:30. In this way I will have HELPED you with your homework instead of done it for you. :o)

Hm. There are two patterns here. 1. Increments of 16 mins. 2. Increments of 16 mins starting on the hour. In (1), the next arrival would be 8:36am. In (2), the next arrival is 8:32am.

I assume we are talking about the same day, and the given times are "am". The pattern is just adding 16 mn to get the next train. 8:30 is 90mn after 7:00. (60 + 30) 90 / 16 = 5 REST 10 Those are 80mn until 8:20 and I still need 10 mn until 8:30 I must wait the rest of the 16mn, so until 8:36 for the next train. Remark: As the pattern repeats only every 5 hours, the schedule will not be the same the next day...

Just turn the equation into a number sequence. 7, 7.16, 7.32, 7.48, 8.04.... It increases by 16 each time.
