Is podiatry a good/rewarding career?

I have pretty much decided on a health career but need to consider admissions standards. Would it be easier to get accepted into podiatry school (DPM) or psychology (either PhD or PsyD)?

I've heard that it is a small field, and also not much people need to go see a podiatrist, which mean employment opportunities for podiatrists are low.
