I can not open my hotmail.

I THINK OPEN OFFICE USES PDF FORMAT. WHAT FORMAT WILL LET OTHERS OPEN AN ATTACHMENT TO HOTMAIL. RICH TEXT? PDF DOES NOT WORK!
